Claiming Open Shifts in Carecentre.io

If your workplace offers open shifts, you can easily view and request them through the Carecentre.io mobile app. Open shifts allow employees to take on additional work based on availability and eligibility. Follow these steps to claim an open shift:

How to View and Claim Open Shifts

  1. Navigate to the Open Shifts section from the home.

  2. A list of available shifts will be displayed, including:

    • Shift date and time

    • Location

    • Role and responsibilities

    • Any additional notes

  3. Tap on an open shift to review the details.

  4. If you are eligible, tap Request Shift to claim it.

  5. You will receive a confirmation once the shift has been assigned to you.

What Happens After Requesting a Shift?

  • If the shift is auto-approved, it will be added to your schedule instantly.

  • If the shift requires manager approval, it will remain pending until reviewed.

  • You will receive a notification once your request has been approved or denied.

Important Notes

  • Open shifts are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • You may not be eligible for some shifts based on scheduling rules or conflicts.

  • If you can no longer work a shift you claimed, follow the process for dropping a shift (if supported by your workplace policy).

Troubleshooting & Support

If you are unable to see or request open shifts:

  • Ensure your app is up to date.

  • Check with your manager to confirm your eligibility.

  • Refresh the app or log out and log back in.
