Employees who are unable to work a scheduled shift can request to drop it using the Carecentre.io mobile app. However, shift removal requires manager approval, and the request is not guaranteed to be accepted.
How to Request to Drop a Shift
Open the Shift section from the home.
Select the shift you wish to remove.
Tap Request to Drop Shift.
Submit the request and wait for managerial approval.
You will receive a notification once the request is approved or declined.
What Happens After Submitting a Request?
The shift will remain assigned to you until it is officially removed.
If approved, the shift will no longer appear in your schedule.
If declined, you are still responsible for working the shift.
Important Notes
Requests to drop a shift should be submitted as early as possible to allow time for approval.
Dropped shifts may need to be reassigned before approval can be granted.
Not all shift drop requests will be approved, as it depends on operational needs.

If you are unable to request a shift drop:
Ensure your app is updated to the latest version.
Check with your manager if shift drop requests are enabled.
Refresh the app or log out and log back in.
