In some cases, employees may need to work multiple shifts in a single day due to split shifts, overtime, or covering different roles. In CareCentre.io, managers can easily schedule multiple shifts for an employee on the same day. This guide explains how to add, manage, and modify multiple shifts efficiently.

How to Add Multiple Shifts for an Employee on the Same Day

1. Navigate to the Rota Section

  • Log in to your CareCentre.io admin or manager account.

  • Go to Rotas from the main menu.

  • Select the location and date range where you want to add shifts.

2. Add the First Shift

  • Locate the employee in the rota view.

  • Click on the ‘+’ icon under the desired date.

  • Set the shift start and end times.

  • (Optional) Add a break duration, assign a role, or add notes if required.

  • Click ‘Save’ to add the shift.

3. Add Additional Shifts for the Same Day

  • For the same role: Open the existing shift and click ‘Add Another Shift’.

  • For a different role: Click the ‘+’ icon again under the same employee and date.

  • Enter the details for the second shift, ensuring there is no overlap with the first shift.

  • If there is an overlapping shift, a toast message will appear notifying you of the conflict. Adjust shift times accordingly.

  • Repeat this process to add as many shifts as needed.

  • Click ‘Save’ after each shift entry.

4. Publish the Shifts

  • Once all shifts have been added, click ‘Publish’ to make them visible to the employee.

  • Employees will receive a notification about their multiple shifts.

1. Editing a Shift

  • Click on a shift to open the edit menu.

  • Modify the shift timing, role, or break duration as needed.

  • Click ‘Save’ to apply changes.

2. Deleting a Shift

  • Click the ‘X’ icon on the shift to remove it.

  • Confirm the deletion in the pop-up prompt.

3. Copying Shifts

  • Use the drag and copy feature to duplicate shifts for future dates.

  • Use the bulk copy tool to replicate shifts across a week.
